"Killing" time while watching volleyball

Last week was my first time attending a volleyball game of any level. I watched the teams of Cerritos play Citrus and it was quite an experience watching the women of both teams play. I never knew that volleyball was that intense.

The most exciting part is seeing how long can the players keep the ball in play.

Watching the look on the players faces as they miss the ball or get a kill (more on that later) is priceless.

Even though the Falcons lost that game, it was nonetheless entertaining on both ends.

They're 1-2 now but it is still very early in the season to predict on how the rest will play out. But despite the loss, some good ground was gained. Well, for me at least.

As a result of attending this game, I have now found a new sport to enjoy. I do so for a few reasons. I also learned some new terminology. Here are the most commnonly used phrases (all defnitions are from wikipedia);

*Kill; When a team attacks the ball and the defending team is unable to play the ball successfully.
*Dig; diving in order to prevent the ball from hiting the ground (there are several types of digs.)
*Ace;When the ball is served to the other team, and it lands in court with no one touching it;

How cool are these nicknames? I'm down to play any sport in which you get to "kill" the ball!!

I wonder why the school dosen't have a men's volleyball team?? Has there not been enough interest?

While it would be cool for Cerritos to have one, I'm not sure if I'd attend every game.

As interesting as volleyball is, it would probably contrast with my manhood to watch tweleve guys run around the court in kneepads and thigh-high shorts.

So for now I'll just watch the ladies
