What's polo got to do with it?

Why is the sport called Water Polo?

I have no explanation, but the sport itself is very interesting.

It's a hybrid between swimming (obviously),soccer, basketball, ice hockey, rugby and wrestling.



So since Swimoccerrugwrestball is too long of a name to call a sport, the creative inventors of the sport decided to name it water polo.

I still have yet to figure out where the polo part in "water polo" comes in.



If that's not enough, the two teams at Cerritos (men's and women's) are actually good at the sport!!

The men's team is 5-1 and are ranked fifth in the state. The team lost its first game against Golden West in the Ventura Tournament Sept. 8 and haven't lost since.



The women are 9-1 fourth in the state

The way that both of these teams are playing now, both might reach state finals. Both team have more than half of the season to play. So we'll see in the end.
